Dog gone | There will literally be No More Bunz

no more bunz hot dogs beijing china
No More Bunz, the modestly sized hot dog joint with a bigger (and tastier) bite than its bark, will close at the end of the August. This place grills its hot dogs up front, slaps them on a baguette and lets customers pick from among ten toppings. Nothing fancy, just good clean wiener fun.

Word is No More Bunz, and all of the shops along that strip just south of the Canadian Embassy, will close and be converted back to their original purpose as residences. Here’s hoping Simon Gauthier, who started the place, soon has another dog in Beijing’s comfort food race.

And check out the mega-dog pictured below and held by the face of No More Bunz, Mr Wei. That one was made specially for the Canada Restaurant Week that I used to organize. Nice dog, eh?

(Thanks to Chaud Chien for the tip.)
