Sips & bites | Baozza shop opens, plus Pop-Up Beijing, Lily’s American Diner

By Jim Boyce | The guys at Baozza have been playing the pop-up game by bringing their steamers and baozi-pizza treats to a bunch of food fairs, World Baijiu Day and a pairing with Signature Wine Club. Yesterday they put down roots with a shop so the masses can have a steady supply of these tasty creations, with “soft opening” hours of 11:30 AM to 3 PM during weekdays. You’ll find Baozza in the B1 Foodie Town section of Building 6 of Sanlitun Soho, the same floor as N Beer Pub, Fly Pizza and Don Chicken. See the map below.

I posted earlier this week about Pop-Up Beijing stocking bottled Arrow Factory beers, including one of my favorites, Two Birds Lager. These guys are also backing the China AIDS Walk at the Great Wall today. Even if you aren’t heading to the wall, you can walk the talk, so to speak, and help Pop-Up reach its team goal of rmb10,000. Details here.

Finally, Lily’s American Diner ranks among the veteran Shuangjing comfort food joints but its fans had to find alternatives this week as the restaurant underwent renovations. Good news, then, that everything is now ready to go and LAD Shuangjing is open again. You can check out the LAD menus here and get maps for all of its Beijing branches, including in Sanlitun and Sihui, here.
