Hot deals | New Tiki Bungalow specials include ‘volcano bowls’

By Jim Boyce | Tiki Bungalow fans will find new drink deals at their hutong hideaway as of next week. Oldies but goodies like Waikiki Wednesday are out and specials on volcano bowls are in, says co-owner Oliver Davies.

“We have had the other happy hours forever, and fall is coming, so we need to change them up,” he says.

The new deals, starting next week:

  • Mondays: Buy two, get one free cocktails. Mai Tais, Scofflaws, Macadamia Nut Chi Chis, the whole slate. (“Even Corpse Reviver No 2?” asks I. “Anything on the menu, yes,” says he.) So, say you buy two Mai Tais; you get a third drink free, either a Mai Tai or something of equal or lesser value. Plus 元20 Kirin. 7 PM to 1 AM.
  • Wednesdays: Volcano bowls are half-price. Don’t know what they are? A big bowl full of booze served ablaze (see below). Each is good for three to four people. And if things go awry in a fire-y way, have a Corpse Reviver ready so your friends can reanimate your smoking body. (My advice: put out the fire after the initial wow factor and then start drinking.) 7 PM to 1 AM.
  • All other days: Get 元40 select cocktails. Options depend on what’s written on the board. 7 PM-9 PM.
