The third Q Mex is set to open Wednesday in World City, just north of The Place, younger sibling to the original branch in Sanlitun and the middle child in Guomao.
Expect a ‘soft opening’ from Wednesday through October 1, with burritos, pastas and burgers all set at 50 kuai. The same menus, prices and deals as the other Q Mex branches should then start, including the lunch sets and weekly post-5 PM food specials — half-price pizzas on Mondays, half-price burgers on Tuesday, etc.
Meanwhile, Joe’s Bar & Kitchen will close its doors on Workers Stadium West on Monday as it shifts to a new space in Westin Hotel in Chaoyang. The team aims to have the new bar up and running within a week, with a similar food, drink and sports theme. Jia you Joe! Here’s a map.
And the former Beer Mania space is now almost completely transformed into a barbecue joint. That sturdy bar is long gone, the drum kit bid bye bye last week and only a few remnants, like the window lettering, remind of Beer Mania. The new owners went with the tried and tried and called their venture “Sanlitun BBQ.”
