It’s Friday and sunny and nice. Here are eight Beijing happy hours so you can enjoy the weather and get a bargain.
It’s hard to find a happier happy hour than Hulu. Buy one, get one free cocktails, draft beers and select wine. That’s 元 58 for two Negronis that already come with side pour. Add free snacks, rooftop views and superb service. From 3 PM to 8 PM daily.
The Mexican cuisines at Pebbles in Wudaying Hutong is as authentic as it gets in China. (Try the tlayuda, thin crispy 12-inch tortillas loaded with toppings.) These guys also do a mean margarita and they are buy one, get one free all Friday. Tequila fun under the sun on Pebbles rooftop deck.
Gung Ho (Sanlitun) is doubling up on its buy one, get one free draft Moa deal. To celebrate this pizza joint’s ninth birthday, the deal starts at 5 PM and ends at 9 PM, rather than 7 PM, until August 25. Grab a seat outside and enjoy some Kiwi brew.
Sanlitun South veteran Nanjie Bar & Grill has a good mix ‘n’ match daily draft beer deal. Four pours at 120 ml each for 元30. Six options from Asahi, Great Leap and Guinness. Prop yourself on the second floor balcony and watch life go by. From 4 PM to 8:30 PM.
Paddy O’Shea’s recently expanded but kept its solid happy hours. It’s 30 percent off most drinks plus buy one, get one free mixers and local draft from 2 PM to 8 PM. Even better, from 5 PM to 6 PM it’s ‘Crazy Irish Hour’, with Irish libations buy one, get one free: Magners, Guinness, Jamesons, more. The benches out front offer lots of people-watching opportunities.
Italian wine bar Buona Bocca has buy one, get one free wine by glass, just off Xindong Road. You can also get buy two, get one free spritzers. From noon to 7 PM weekdays. That patio out front has been pretty busy this summer.
Just off Xindong Road, XL Restaurant and bar offers happy hour prices all day Friday. Starting with ice-cold Tsingtao at 10 kuai.
And if you’re into a hutong vibe, Zhu Jing Ban / El Nido. I haven’t been yet but they are listing 元25 draft beer and 元10 off all (bottled?) beers.
