Beijing value | A dozen Tuesday food deals

It’s Tuesday, many people are two weeks into home quarantine and some are hankering to get out. If you really can’t stay at home and amuse yourself with hand washing each hour and WeChat checks each minute, here are some Tuesday deals.

(More relevant than ever: situations change, I sometimes make typos, it’s always best to check before you go!)

The Local. Buy one, get one free taco sets and beer margaritas. Dine-in only, 4 PM-10 PM. Kenn notes the deal is specifically for beer margaritas. Check out his other specials, too.

El Barrio. Half-price fajitas, 5:30 PM-late. David says it’s also half-price tacos on Mondays and half-price frozen margaritas on Wednesdays. El Barrio and Italian sibling Bottega are doing a half-price delivery deal.

Georgia’s Feast. Half-price chkmeruli (chicken in garlic cream sauce) from 5 PM. Plus half-price Georgian wine, says Muhammet

Turkish Feast. Half-price pide (flat bread with toppings) from 5 PM.

Burger Box. BOGOF burgers. That deal is for burgers, not for burger sets, notes Norris. Dine in or delivery. Try the cheesy magic mushroom burger. Also look for a BOGOF smoothie deal at Burger Box sibling Moka Bros.

Jing-A (Xingfucun). The half-price ribs or wings, with booze order, is on as usual from 5 PM, says Richard. Jing-A also has a delivery deal on beer.

Gung Ho. The WeChat account says the shop is closed but delivery is still going. Get 20 percent off on pizza deliveries on Tuesdays.

Some Tuesday deal faves aren’t available today, like burgers at XL (closed until February 12), chicken at Boxing Cat (February 10), tacos at Pebbles (tbd) and rolls at Pachapapi (tbd).

Groovy Schiller’s doesn’t have its food deal today but will have its usual BOGOF burgers tomorrow. And still has its regular happy hour.

For those in the Gulou area, El Nido has a BOGOF deal on tacos and select beer, daily from 6 PM to 9 PM, until February 10.

Also, while Italian wine bar Buona Bocca is not open, the owners tell me their sibling spot, Mala Bocca, is back in business. Get your spicy fix via delivery–available on Meituan and, I’m told, from tomorrow on Eleme–or pickup. Some photos from a pre-Christmas visit:

Finally, I posted yesterday about Hulu’s new delivery service that starts tomorrow. Here’s the QR code for ordering.

I’ve tried to be as accurate as possible. If you have any updates / know of other good deals / want to join our WeChat deals group, let me know. I’m available via beijingboyce (at) yahoo.com or ‘beijingboyce’ on WeChat.
