Look for the former Q Bar space atop the Eastern Inn to reopen in July with a new look and name. Q was arguably the city’s best cocktail joint when it opened in 2005 and lasted nearly a decade before finally closing.
Now George Zhou, who helped found the place but left a few years ago to open George’s Bar in the base of Workers Stadium, is working with several investors to revamp the bar and rooftop. He says the cocktail menu will have prices closer to 2005 than 2015.
I stopped by Friday and renovations were already under way. I’ll post more details on the “new Q” when I get them. The photos show some views from the bar.

Thanks BB. Went there and it’s really awesome. Do you have a phone number for the bar or for George, pls? I’d like to reserve a couple of seats there. Thanks
Hi Adrian,
Yes, Q is up and running. Had some martinis there last time. Nicely priced at 50 kuai.
Cheers, Boyce
Looking to visit Q this weekend. Do you know if the new bar is up and running now?
Thanks
