Whether due to new restrictions, economic worries or sheer boredom, the fireworks output of Beijing residents has been tame this week compared to years past. Check out this one-minute video I made in 2007–the 13-year ban on fireworks was lifted in 2006–while facing Workers Stadium. That is some heavy action around midnight, although there were almost continuous displays in the six hours leading up to it.
