Sips & bites: O’Pasta opens this week, plus Arrow Factory and East Hotel

Look for O’Steak spin-off O’Pasta to open on Xingfucun Middle Street, just north of Workers Stadium, this Saturday. The official launch is slated for March 14. Expect pasta dishes inspired by a variety of places, including China, Italy, France and Japan. (Hat tip to Mr B.)

Tuesday is fish and chips night at Arrow Factory: get battered haddock, chips, mashed peas and tartar sauce for rmb60. Then add any Arrow Factory beer for rmb20. This week, the beer options at the Jianchang Hutong location will include English guest porter Harviestoun Old Engine Oil while quantities–one keg–last. A second keg will be available from 4 PM this Friday at the Liangma River location.

East Hotel will feature traditional dishes from Indonesia this week, courtesy of Gallant Jeremy and Carline Hanafi, a pair of trainees who hail from that country. Enjoy a two-course (rmb128) or three-course (rmb158) lunch with buffet starters and desserts from the Food Market through March 4. There is also a four-course menu for rmb188. (There is a 15 percent service charge on meals.)
