Plus Zach’s back | Union’s new closing date is August 20

The original word: Union would close on July 15—tomorrow!—and thus bring an era of tasty Buffalo wings, eggs Benedict and more to an end. The new word: The place will finish up August 20 or a day or two before.

Zach Lewison, chef at Union for several years, will return to the kitchen. (Expect to see him move to other restaurants operated by the owners, including brands such as Dan Ryan’s and Texas Roadhouse.)

From Saturday, there will be a BBQ menu of ribs, burgers, herb chicken and steak, with a free ice tea or, for rmb8, a draft Kentucky Ale option with each order. That means no brunch this weekend.

Once Zach gets settled in, the full menu will return. Also happy hour will be extended: get your deals from opening to 8 PM daily.

Here’s a nice collage of photos of Zach during his first stint at Union.
