“Mommy, can kangaroos fly?”
“Yes, dear, but only in Beijing.”
Say goodbye to The Godfather bar on Friday as founders Louis and Heather Jacquot will soon return to Australia. And say hello to The Flying Kangaroo that will take over the space starting this weekend.
Headed by a team of four, The Flying Kangaroo will retain the Down Under spirit of the Godfather, with an aviation theme to boot. Look for some food menu favorites to remain (hopefully that includes the fish and chips) and for additional options such as Aussie steak, a range of better-known Chinese dishes and a TimTam-focused dessert—hmm, deep-frying those could be fun. An official party will be held after Spring Festival, says one of the new owners, Dan Duggan.
The farewell to the Jacquots starts at 7 PM.
