Jazz in the Jing | The Bricks opens tonight on Xindong Road

The Bricks Live Jazz Bar Embassy Night

By Jim Boyce | After a recent four-day test run, The Bricks Live Jazz Bar closed for fine-tuning and will officially open tonight. The Bricks is on Xindong Road (map below), in the same complex as Everwines, Jenny Lou’s and Lily’s American Diner. It will open daily from 7 PM to 2 AM and feature performers from home and abroad.

Self-described as a “New York style live jazz bar’, the nearly 200-square-meter venue evokes the Big Apple’s architecture and music scenes. Beyond the B1 entrance is a bar, a lounge area and private rooms.

The owners say they aim to make the place known for wine. I haven’t seen any details on the list but am told it includes “good stuff”.

Anyway, you can check out The Bricks this Friday and Saturday night from 7 PM when the festivities will include The Alleycats, cabaret dancers and a buy one, get one deal on selected bottles of wine.

The Bricks will also have a Wednesday ladies night, with two free cocktails before 10 PM. And an Embassy Night, where staffers showing ID can get buy one, get one drinks plus 30 percent off bottles.
