Wudaoying news | Vineyard Cafe closes, to focus on delivery

By Jim Boyce | Beijing veteran Vineyard Cafe in Wudaoying Hutong closed yesterday and thus ended a decade-plus run. Opened in 2006, Vineyard Cafe was on the leading edge of popularizing the area as a food and drink destination. It was particularly known for its weekend brunch. According to a press release, the space will continue as Yonghe Yard and be run by the landlord’s son.

The next move for Vineyard Cafe is to setup a delivery service based in Chaowai Soho. The menu will include Asian fusion, Mediterranean and vegan dishes, the venue’s brunch options, and drinks such as wine and cocktails. It will also offer craft beers from the associated Arrow Factory.
