Hard to believe it’s been nine years since Xiao Shuai opened beer joint El Nido and launched a half dozen years of fun on Fangjia Hutong. That lane was hutong hipster central for a long while but with ample room for the Dad Jeans-wearing demographic, too.
Anyway, the new El Nido celebrated that ninth birthday on the weekend with a full house of inebriated bar owners and brewing society fans. And is following it up with a week of deals, says partner Zak Elmasri.
Get buy two, get one free tacos by the LA Palms crew plus pilsener and wheat beer at 25 kuai per draft. Today through Friday.
(El Nido at The Other Place is at 1 Langjia Hutong–with an “L”–toward the north end of Beiluoguxiang. Weekday hours are 4 PM to 2 AM, and 3 AM on Friday.)
Also, look for the next beer takeover this Sunday at El Nido’s sibling bar Zhu Jing Ban.
Stone Brewery from the U.S. has ruled the taps the past two months and now that baton will be passed to creative Danish brand Mikkeller. More details here.
