Great Wall guzzle | Schoolhouse at Mutianyu has six new baijiu drinks

By Jim Boyce | Set near the Great Wall of China, The Schoolhouse at Mutianyu has made baijiu liqueurs for years and featured them for last year’s inaugural World Baijiu Day. This time around, deputy GM Randhir Singh has been working on a half-dozen baijiu-inspired drinks and they are ready to go.

“We tried summer cocktails based on local and fresh ingredients with our liqueurs,” says Singh. “It went so well that we started selling already.”

There are six options, including apricot and basil, lemon and green tea, and caramel coffee.

“The five-spiced one was a hit,” he says.

The baijiu drinks are rmb57, save for the caramel coffee, at rmb48.
