By Jim Boyce | Veteran cafe Moka Bros in Sanlitun’s Nali Patio had its outdoor deck on the south side removed by the authorities this week but is still going strong. The removal was part of the ongoing government beautification program—they do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder—but don’t worry, Moka fans. You can still get your favorite poke bowls, relax in the Nali Patio courtyard, and enjoy one of the city’s better happy hours, with rmb30 cocktails, house wine and local beer from 4-7 PM. (Try the Bloody Mary. They put the ok in Moka. Drum roll.)
You just can’t sit outside on the south side. At least for now. Team Moka is hoping to have some kind of seating out there in the very near future. In the meantime, try that happy hour. And if the Bloody Marys aren’t spicy enough, ask for some black pepper.
