By Jim Boyce | The flea market returns to Pop-Up Beijing this Saturday from noon to 6 PM. (The last time I went, I bought a flip-top bottle of The Local‘s delicious Buffalo wing hot stuff that, once emptied, I filled with some really old and stinky baijiu. Recycle and save the planet, people.)
Anyway, expect dozens of stalls that feature everything from home decor items to jewelry to clothing. And yes, you can also stuff your face. The current food vendor lineup includes:
- Big Bear Baked Goods
- Bubba’s Pantry
- Jennie’s Oven
- Mantra Bar
- Naked Nut Butters
- Parwaaz Spice Route Concepts
- Shangrila Farms
- Two Guys & a Pie
- Yeyo Coconut Yogurt
If I can break away from work and get over to Pop-Up, I’ll probably end up guzzling pies at Two Guys.
As for libations, Pop-Up has a pair of bars and stocks a smart selection of wines as well as Nine Inch and Arrow Factory beers. If you’re pinching pennies, drop by for the happy hours from 5 PM to 7 PM when wine is rmb40 per glass.
