Blue Chip Event | Cookie Monster Charity Bake-Off at The Hutong

It’s ain’t over til the cookie crumbles. Til the fat lady sings. Til the fat lady sings about a crumbling cookie. Til something something. At the very least, it ain’t over this Sunday at The Hutong til the last vote is cast in the Cookie Monster Charity Bake-Off, named for the blue sweets-gobbling maniac on Sesame Street. (Fun fact: Cookie Monster debuted on the show in 1969, the same year as the Moon landing, two events that defined a generation.)

Twenty cookies—some crumbling, some not—will vie as People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice champs. See here for details on the cookies and cooks.

For rmb150, you can taste all 20 and vote on three favorites. You also get a beverage such as warm milk or hot chocolate in which to do some dunking. (The price is rmb100 for Hutong members, rmb50 for Cookie Monsters under age 12.)

You can buy extra warm milk (rmb10) and hot chocolate (rmb25) as well as Hani Coffee (rmb25), hot toddies (rmb40) and White Russians (rmb40).

All revenue from the raffle, with prizes from East Hotel, The Orchid, Botany, The Georg, Haiku and more, and a portion of the entry fees go to St. Joseph’s Orphanage.

The event is 2 PM to 5 PM on March 19. The Hutong is at 1 Jiu Dao Wan Zhong Xiang Hutong / 东城区九道弯中巷1号. If you haven’t been before, check out this map. Seriously, use the map.
