Pop-Up Beijing wraps up an impressive three-year run this weekend with a Christmas flea market on Saturday and all-day (and likely all-night) happy hours on Sunday. See below.
I’ve posted here about Pop-Up’s imminent closing as well as props to it being among the city’s top wine havens and an elite community builder via its movie nights, seminars, national day parties, dinners and other events. Those include some dear to this blog’s heart, like Maovember fundraisers, World Baijiu Day tastings and Grape Wall Challenge get-togethers.
So, what’s ahead for Pop-Up’s last few days?
On Saturday, December 9, there is a flea market from noon to 6 PM. It’s a good chance to grab some mulled wine, some local craft foods and some sweet Christmas gifts, many of them with a Beijing / China twist. I had a blast at this event last year. Here are a few Pop-Up Beijing photos of previous flea markets.
And on Sunday, it will be happy hour all day long. As I’ve written before, Pop-Up has a modestly sized but carefully thought out wine list. It also stocks some top-notch beers from Nine Inch, Arrow Factory and Tuatara. Get down for a few bottles. Hopefully, we see Pop-Up popping up elsewhere soon.
